#glutenfree #dairyfree I have zero idea how to cook delicious Asian food…but the different ingredients in these chicken burgers are inspired by my favorite Asian flavors: spice, sesame, and scallion - so you probs won’t find these in Singapore or Japan but you will in my kitchen! The slaw is a banger, combined with these Patties, hot sauce, and omg pickles. These just hit the spot. Lettuce wrap them for a healthy weekday lunch or dinner OR use them for meal prep. The slaw also held up amazingly in the fridge!
3-4inchhead of purple cabbage cut finely on a mandolin
1/3cupchopped cilantro
2carrots peeledthen using a peeler, make delicate ribbons
1/3cupveganaise
1/4cupsriracha
1/2tspsalt + pepper
Instructions
PATTIES
Add all the ingredients to a bowl. Combine well and form into four burger patties (that will make four 4 oz burgers, but you could also make smaller ones).
In a pan, coat with non-stick spray and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side. They should be cooked through the middle! (use a meat thermometer if you are new at this).
Set aside on a cooling rack to rest while you make the slaw.
PURPLE CABBAGE SLAW
Combine well and taste to see if you need more salt or pepper. Add more sriracha if you want more of a kick!
Then assemble the burgers: I add pickles, but pickled jalapenos would be amazing (or any pickled veggie, for that matter). Add some greens, some more hot sauce, cut it in half and serve with some extra slaw ?
Notes
Bun is optional! I prefer to lettuce wrap these and make smaller burgers!
